Greetings everyone,
Yes, it’s been while but here I am, back online, very happy to share some summer time thoughts and feelings J
As some of you might know, I am studying architecture at the Bucharest University of Architecture (whose wonderful building is illustrated above), just recently finished my second year of study and now enjoying the summer break.
I have been reflecting lately at this second academic year…a very unusual one as we all know, with multiple challenges of different kinds, but all in all, in my view, a great year nonetheless. Why am I saying so? Let me tell you why…
First, I really feel I have learned so many things, It has definitely been a year that contributed to my professional growth. I have gained great knowledge in multiple areas, from the magic of concrete and steel that come together to assemble to structure of a building, to principles of architecture, architecture styles and visions, designing buildings and residential areas…really, really great stuff! I have enjoyed to the fullest our hands-on projects, with each and every piece of wood, plastic, plaster and clay that I used in my models…
Second, when I decided to study Architecture, the driving force behind my decision was that Architecture is a magnificent combination between science and art…Science and art coming together to create beautiful, nature-friendly, sustainable things for our communities, for the human kind in general…And you know what? I am now even more convinced that I was right…It is an absolutely fascinating domain, and I am keen to keep going forward.
Last but not least, I am very pleased that the school not only kept on feeding my desire to grow professionally, but it has also allowed and helped me to continue with my huge passion for drawing and painting. Meet me on Facebook and Instagram if you’d like to know more.
As I was saying, it is now summer time and I am trying my best to take some rest but also to keep working on my passions and my growth. I am looking forward to the next academic year, as I am positive new and fascinating things are awaiting. I also hope that as school starts in the fall, we will have the chance to physically meet at the university every now and then. Again, despite the fully remote school we experienced last year, things have worked amazingly well, students and professors were able to adapt very well, so that we moved on successfully…However, we are humans, and we crave for interaction, or…as Bruce Springsteen used to say about 30 years ago in one his famous hits…Give me just a little of that human touch J
Until next time
